Released in 2015, the collab marked the 35th anniversary of the Stüssy brand. With both brands links to New York hip-hop culture, the collaboration only seemed fitting.
2. Stüssy x Hajime Sorayama
Known for his paintings of sexy robots and sci-fi pin up girls, Sorayama collaborated with Stüssy in 2014, this release also came with a short film. Understandably, the T-shirts have gone on to become the most collectable Stüssy item on the secondhand market.
3. Stüssy x New Balance
Something about the Stüssy x New Balance collaboration stands out. With its minimalist design and only one logo on the entire release of the 990v4 shoe, many felt that Stüssy was challenging itself to not use their own logo. This led to only the true followers of the brand being able to identify the shoe as a Stüssy collaboration.
'Shawn was really open to everything that was going on at the time. From the Lower East Side's Orchard Street scene to SoHo Comme des Garçons, he fused all of that into the brand and made some sick gear! Stussy the brand is carrying on what Shawn started, ever growing and moving forward. Everything evolves, and Stussy is evolving with the times but staying true to its roots.'
